Nowruz: the first day of spring
The Solar Hijri year begins at Nowruz, the first day of spring, around 21 March. It is the same ‘new spring’ that gives Nûbihar its name. Dates on Iranian and most Afghan documents follow this calendar, which is why every date in a certified translation has to be converted to the exact day.
