Which kind of interpreting do you need?

Consecutive
The speaker pauses every few sentences while I interpret. The usual choice for appointments and meetings.
Simultaneous
I interpret in real time as the speaker talks, usually through headsets. Suited to conferences and events.
Whispered (chuchotage)
Simultaneous interpreting spoken quietly to one or two people sitting beside me.
Liaison
Interpreting back and forth in an informal conversation, such as a business visit or a tour.
Sight translation
I read a written document aloud in the other language on the spot, such as a letter or a form.
Remote
Any of the above by telephone or video when meeting in person isn’t practical.

Not sure which you need? Describe the situation and I’ll recommend the right approach.

Common questions

Can you interpret remotely?

Yes. Telephone and video interpreting work well for short appointments and urgent conversations. I can join on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, WhatsApp or your own platform.

Do you interpret in person outside London?

Yes, anywhere in the UK by arrangement. Just tell me the location when you ask for a quote.

What do you need to book an interpreter?

The date, start time and expected length, the address or video link, the type of appointment, and any names or documents that will come up. Background information helps me prepare the right terminology.

Do you work in Dari?

Yes. Dari, the Persian spoken in Afghanistan, is very close to Farsi, and I welcome translation and interpreting work in Dari. Just tell me your document or meeting is in Dari, so I can match the words and spelling your readers expect.
