About me

I’m Bahram Rezaei, a professional linguist based in central London. I am a native speaker of Kurdish (Sorani) and Farsi, I work between them and English, and I also take on work in Dari.

I’m a Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (MCIL), the UK’s Royal Charter body for language professionals, and I follow its Code of Professional Conduct. That means working only within my competence, staying impartial, and keeping everything you share confidential and secure.

As a native speaker of both languages, I pay attention to more than words: tone, formality, names, dates and the small details that official documents depend on.

I welcome work from individuals and families, solicitors, healthcare providers, local authorities, schools, businesses, production companies and language service providers.

The name

Nûbihar: a new spring for your words

Nûbihar means “new spring”. It is the name of one of the earliest Kurdish dictionaries, Nûbihara Biçûkan, a rhyming Arabic–Kurdish word book for children by the great Kurdish poet Ehmedê Xanî (1650–1707). Kurdish schools taught from it for more than two centuries, and a manuscript copy is kept at the British Library, here in London.

In Persian and Dari the same word, nowbahâr, also means new spring. Translation works in the same way: what was closed in one language opens in another. That is the care I bring to every document, meeting and recording.
