Privacy notice
Last updated 11 October 2026
This notice explains how I, Bahram Rezaei, collect and use your personal information when you contact me or use my translation, interpreting, transcription and voice services. I am a self-employed linguist based in London, United Kingdom, and I am the controller of your personal data under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
This website
This website does not use cookies or advertising trackers, and it does not store anything you type into the quote form. When you choose “Send on WhatsApp” or “Send by email”, your message opens in WhatsApp or your own email app, and nothing is sent until you send it yourself.
To count visits, the website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. It does not use cookies or other identifiers stored on your device, and it does not fingerprint you; I see only totals, such as how often a page was viewed, which website visitors came from, their country, device type and browser, and how quickly pages load. It does not tell me who you are.
A few choices are remembered by your browser on your own device and are never sent to me: closing the suggestion to view the site in Farsi or Kurdish, and Listen’s reading speed, chosen voice and the place where you paused. Your browser also keeps copies of the pages you have opened, so they load quickly and work offline.
The company that hosts this website, Cloudflare, processes technical information such as IP addresses to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse.
The assistant, voice input and Listen
If you type or say a question to the assistant, or ask it to summarise a page or explain it in plain words, the question (or the page’s address and title) is sent to Cloudflare Workers AI, part of the service that hosts this website, to write an answer. Questions are not stored by this website and are not linked to you, and Cloudflare does not use them to train AI models. Page summaries contain no personal information and are kept for up to 30 days so they can be shown again quickly. Please do not type personal details into the assistant: for a quote, use the quote form or contact me directly. Answers are written automatically from the information on this website and can contain mistakes; I confirm every quote myself.
If you tap the microphone, your browser asks for your permission and then turns your speech into text. Some browsers, such as Google Chrome, do this on their maker’s servers, so the recording is processed by that company under its own privacy policy. This website receives only the text, never the recording.
Listen reads the page aloud with your own device’s or browser’s built-in voices. Some browsers produce these voices online, so the text of the page may be sent to your browser’s maker. On the Farsi pages you can also choose a natural voice from Microsoft Azure AI Speech: the sentences of the page are then sent from this website to Microsoft to be turned into speech. Microsoft does not store this text, and this website keeps the audio for up to 30 days so it does not have to be made again. Nothing you type is sent.
Information I collect
- Your contact details, such as your name, phone number and email address.
- The details of your request, such as dates, places and the type of work you need.
- Documents and recordings you send me, which can include identity, immigration, health, financial or legal information.
- Information I hear while interpreting for you.
- Invoices and payment records.
How I use it
- To reply to you and prepare a quote.
- To carry out the work you ask for.
- To send invoices and keep business and tax records.
- To meet my legal and professional obligations.
The legal basis
I use your information to take steps at your request before a contract and to perform our contract, to comply with legal obligations such as keeping tax records, and for my legitimate interest in running my business. Where your documents or recordings contain special category information, such as health details, I use it only to provide the service you have asked for, on the basis of your explicit consent or where it is needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Confidentiality
As a Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists, I follow its Code of Professional Conduct, which requires me to keep the information and material you provide confidential and secure, except where disclosure is required by law. I am happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
Who I share it with
I never sell your information. I share it only when needed with the services I use to run my business (such as email, messaging, secure storage and website hosting), with a notary public or the FCDO Legalisation Office when you ask me to arrange notarisation or an apostille, with professional advisers such as an accountant, or with authorities where the law requires it. Some providers may process data outside the UK, in which case they must protect it with the safeguards UK law requires.
How long I keep it
I keep documents, recordings and assignment details only for as long as needed to complete the work and answer any follow-up questions, and then delete them securely. Invoices and accounting records are kept for as long as UK tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information I hold about you, and ask me to correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how I use it, or give you a copy in a portable format. Where I rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To make a request, contact me using the details below.
Contact and complaints
Email [email protected] or call 07539 285040.
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. I would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
